In 1958 a depot allocation code scheme was introduced by Eastern National which resulted in a two-letter plate being added to every vehicle ahead of the fleetnumber plate indicating the current allocation of the vehicle. These codes were carried by REs throughout their working lives with the company and the following is a comprehensive list of codes with thanks to the SCT61 website for the information:
