9/1983 Rushden Historical Transport Society (for preservation). Destroyed by fire, 25/5/2015 5/1968 - 9/1983 United Counties Omnibus Company Ltd. 273. Withdrawn 12/1982

Very regrettably 273 was destroyed in an apparent arson attack at Rushden in May 2015. All that hard work wasted in a single mindless act Work had progressed well by 2012 and continued steadily (James Worboys) A program of renovation was undertaken at Rushden and the extent of the work on chassis and body can be seen in this June 2010 view (Dave Beardmore) 273 passed into preservation on withdrawal from service. It was restored in this Tilling-style livery and was a familiar sight on the rally scene in the 1980s and 1990s (John Hammond) Seen in National coach livery (Ken Harding) 273 was delivered in Tilling cream coach livery with a green band, a scheme it was to receive again later in its life.
